Frequently Asked Questions
Do you answer rooftop unit calls after hours?
Yes. GBL HVAC LTD is open 24 hours, 7 days a week. Call 403-970-6988 any time your unit stops heating or cooling.
Why is water leaking through my ceiling under the rooftop unit?
Often a blocked condensate drain, damaged curb seal or failed roof flashing around the unit. A blocked drain is something we check and clear on every maintenance visit. If the leak is in the roof itself, you may also need a roofer.
How often should a rooftop unit be maintained?
At least twice a year is common: once before heating season and once before cooling season. Filters may need changing more often, depending on the building and the environment.
Should I repair or replace my rooftop unit?
It depends on the unit's age and condition and what the repair involves. We'll give you both options with the trade-offs so you can decide.
Can you service the rooftop unit over a restaurant kitchen?
Yes. We also work on kitchen hood fans and make-up air units, which often sit on the same roof and affect how the building's heating and cooling perform.
